Glacier National Park

This weekend, we spent time in Glacier National Park. Aside from the threat of grizzlies, an amazing place to be. We drove on the aptly named Going-to-the-Sun Road several times, admired wildlife and hiked an incredible trail.

We stumbled upon this mountain goat early in our hike. Matt bravely walked by, although the mountain goat looked like he was deciding between continuing his snack or teaching Matt a lesson....

The trail wrapped along the side of a mountain. We could look down the valley and up to the peaks through most of the hike.

Matt is very patient when stopping to take pictures, being careful with capturing the right frame... I began to entertain myself with my own art along the way.

Another trail friend. We walked right by him as well.

After finishing the windy hike we got on a shuttle back to the top of the pass where our car was. We had hiked 11.6 miles and were ready for some hot chai. So, Matt braved the wind and rain to make that for us.

Then some more wildlife showed up. We think he liked the smell of our chai, because he kept coming near our car until a ranger shooed him away. I think this ram may be familiar with this parking lot.

The next day we went back to the park, but the rain was still there, so we just drove through and enjoyed other parts of the park. This is Lake MacDonald,

Glacier was a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. I hope we go back eventually, but next time we're bringing bear spray... just in case.
